Seeing Eye Dog
Dogs that have been specially selected and trained to lead or guide a blind person in walking about. The first training schools were established in Germany in 1911-1918, the United States in 1929 and in Great Britain in 1931. Guide dogs are a type of assistance animal. The special training course takes about four months. Common breeds used are German shepherds, Labradors and Golden retrievers.
